New 944 Cup Chapter in 2014
I am pleased to announce that the series will be welcoming a new Chapter for 2014.
The new Chapter: the MidWest. Expect races at tracks such as Brainerd, Road America, Circuit of the Americas, and Putnam Park. All races will be with PCA.
The new Director: Brian Weathered. Brian owns Eurosport, http://www.midwesteurosport.com, a Porsche specialty shop in Bensenville, IL. which he founded in 1984 with his brother George. The Weathered’s decided to open up their own shop and rented a six car garage in Elk Grove, IL and started Midwest Eurosport. Since then, they have focused on Porsche service and race prep. In 1996, they bought a five-car Semi tractor and trailer to support their race and driver’s ed customers at the track. Eurosport supports ten to twelve races per year. Eurosport does everything in-house. The company rebuilds engines and transmissions and has a dyno room/test cell to develop racing and test street engines. In 2006, having outgrown their Bensenville location, they opened a second shop in Joliet on the grounds of the Autobahn Country Club race track.

The 944 Cup is very pleased to announce that the series has just reached agreement with track officials for a Cup race weekend for Autobahn to be included in the MidWest Championship schedule. This is a 3day event on June 20,21,23, with a practice session, qualifying and sprint race on each day. This is not a part of a PCA weekend so it gives the drivers in the series to race at a track not normally available to the series. PCA, SCCA, and NASA comp licenses and log books will be accepted.
The Autobahn Country Club is an auto racing themed country club located in Joliet, Illinois. This 2014 event will feature the full track of 3.56 miles. For more details on the track, go to:www.autobahncc.com.
The track is conveniently located near the Hollywood Casino Joliet, where you can reserve a room for the weekend, enjoy live entertainment, and maybe a bit of gaming during your stay. www.hollywoodcasinojoliet.com/
