Mike-
SOOO sorry to hear about Pat. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help. Sounds like he is in VERY good hands at UVA and I'm praying that he continues to progress!

My God, it's been one tough week for racers! VIR GT class accident, this, Houston Indy accident, and a great Puertorrican IMSA racer, Chiqui Soldevila, dead at the hands of a drunk driver. My prayers go out to all involved and their relatives.

Thank god Pat is recovering. I heard about the spinal issues and I feared the worse. He has friends and family at hand - Thank god.
And a host of friends from all over (all of us) on his side.
Watching this happen in front of you must have been an unforgettable nightmare.
Prayers and best wishes

On Behalf of the Bodymotion family, we want to send our sincerest gratitude out to everyone who assisted at the accident scene, hospitals and all of the prayers and well wishes that we have received. It is simply impossible to respond individually to the tremendous outpouring of emotions and requests for information.
On Saturday night, we left the Virginia International Raceway after the week long ALMS event. While driving home (only 17 miles from the track), one of our three tow vehicles with a single car trailer had a horrific accident. Apparently triggered by a blown trailer tire, the entire rig left route 58 sideways and barrel rolled into the center median ravine. As I watched ,helpless in complete horror, the entire rig rolled three times most violently. Both occupants were back-barded to a local hospital. Both were wearing seat belts, for without, the outcome would most certainly be gravely worse.
Pascual Ramirez, the sole passenger, suffered concussion, bruises and multiple lacerations along with broken ribs and is back home in New
Jersey this morning recovering. The driver, Patrick Gumley was air lifted to the University of Virginia hospital. He is being treated in the neuro- intensive care unit. Pat underwent spinal surgery into the wee hours this morning to repair several broken vertebrae and ruptured discs in his back and neck. Please continue to pray for Patrick and his family, as the next hours and days will be critical to his recovery. The intensive care unit at UVA does not allow plant and materials , but we are forwarding all of your kind thoughts, prayers, and wishes for a full and speedy recovery. Thank you for your patience, it feels like the last 36 hours has been in ultra slow motion. We will do our best to post progress reports as the family permits.
