I drove DE and supported various club racers at The Bridge. I have the same nostalgia and wonderful memories as others. One particularly memorable occasion was replacing the head gasket in Dave Maynard's 924 GTS Club Sport in time for him to make the race. He didn't get to qualify, but he did start at the back of the pack and work his way to the front and a win. Which was all we asked of him! Photo below of Jerry Pellegrino, Bill Pfister, and me at work. Photo was taken by Mike Melton, it was 105 F in the paddock, and Mike timed us from his lawn chair under an umbrella. It was a different time, when people actually fixed their broken cars in the paddock.

Metro NY PCA DE morning arrival and unpacking in the paddock. Pristine 1984 944. Pre-May 1990 Bridgehampton sandblasting. Right in front of the spot where 3 years, 5 months later I met That Girl.
Drivers hopped aboard and rode on the roll back to man each flag station at The Bridge 1993. I think that’s future Club President Henry standing behind the driver…
Flag station 1 between turns 1 & 2. Now the entrance to the golf club is at the left side of this photo This was taken at the last practice section the day before the 1995 PCA Club Race.

Turn 1. See if I can get this right: High speed, blind, right hand, slightly off camber downhill with soft, grassy sand, bushes and sandy, wind-stepped berms around you. I never noticed that till now. ; ) Plenty of bright, previous generation of pavement at the edge of the track to guide eyes on what one is doing. Magic.
