Seems like there's more than one faux pas going on here.

Wow 46k for Huyndai - what is this world coming to... Not saying it's a bad/good car, just reflecting on the prices Huyndai is charging these days. I guess a few more years and it will no longer be looked as a cheap alternative to Japanese cars.

Guess it depends on which model you are thinking about. Feature for feature, the Genesis competes well with a BMW 5 series and the Equus with the 7 series.

This winter we were looking at compact SUV's and thought we wanted an Acura RDX. Compared it to a Hyundai Santa Fe and could not justify the $8k spread. 11k miles later the Santa Fe has not failed to impress.

I would test drive it. The 3.8L has a better ride than the 5.0L. The V8 cars have a much stiffer ride as if they wanted to mimic the German ride quality but missed. I bought a Genesis sedan for my Dad an Equus for myself. The Equus has airbags and rides much better. you could prolly find a used Equus for low $40's. Personally....I would go that route.

They're prettier than BMWs, too.
