Reports?

Sadly I hear Klaus' GT3R (freshly rebuilt) was smacked around.

That's a surprise.

I wasn't there, Kai, but apparently there was a very serious incident in the Enduro.

I was there and witnessed it first hand, almost the entire incident. The enduro race was red flagged and cancelled. I won't talk about it or speculate. Nor should anyone else untill the facts are released, by PCA or family.

I had technical issues all Saturday. Managed to clear them up Sunday. Chad *** was flying in E. Besting Buckleys lap record. I hung on as best as I could but just couldn't get there.

I just found out I got a corner workers award. Yeay for me.

My car quit on 3rd practice (qualifying for Enduro). I never made a lap so had no time. I spent all my time trying to get the car to run and fix a braking issue. I started at the back of the grid for the fun race. As soon as we set off I realized I had a loose wheel (I knew I meant to do something, ie tighten the wheel before going on track. What a dumbass!).

I came in the paddock and found someone with a wrench to tighten the wheel. I got back on track and no sign of the pack. I circulated as fast as I could to catch up, with corner workers cheering me on. I joined the group just as the green for the race had been thrown. I made it up to 4th by the end. It was so much fun.

Found this on RMR's FB page:
Jerry Schouten, long time RMR member, was involved in an accident at High Plains Raceway this past weekend during a PCA Club Race. This was a single car incident in Turn 11 on Saturday. He is in critical but stable condition in the University Hospital burn unit in Aurora.

Arnette, Jerry’s wife, requests that we do not send flowers because Jerry is in ICU. Arnette also asks that we please not try to visit for awhile.

We need to support the family but give them some time in this recovery. You may send cards along with our prayers and thoughts for Jerry's quick recovery.

Arnette and Jerry Schouten
1680 S. Clarkson St.
Denver, CO 80210

We will provide updates as we receive them from the family. Please keep Jerry and his family in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult recovery.

I know that everyone at the event is hoping the best for Jerry. I didn't know him but this community is so close I feel like I did. The whole incident was tragic and hard to imagine. There was a racer who performed heroically to save him, I was very impressed by that. I was on the other side of the track and didn't witness anything but when we came to a halt under red flag conditions I started praying.
