Did a quick search and can't find any place that sells the Zylon strip...

Locally, I would suggest contacting HMS Motorsports. They are the region's safety experts IMHO.

Multiple searches appear to indicate they are only available to professionally sponsored drivers via the helmet manufacturer

Don't think it is as critical for us non-open cockpit drivers, but still, you would think that something simple as that should be made available to everyone.. ! (Basically just a very tough visor strip..)

Yeah, I'd be seriously considering that for mine, if I could find it, at a plausible price... seems like a wonderful idea...

I spoke to one of the largest Arai dealer in US, and here's the response I got:

"Yes, Arai makes some of these visors for the F1 guys, unfortunately this part is bonded to the shield, which makes it a very expensive shield everytime you need to replace it.
At this time Arai does not offer this for resale, however we have asked them to look into making one that will attach to a regular shield and could be removed."
