Excuse my ignorance, but what are the official dates for the 2014 race? I'm thinking of going too. Thanks!

I do not believe the dates for 2014 have been announced - they usually do this once the current race is finished. Most of the time it is the middle-weekend of June. However, this year it is the third weekend of June. My guess would be the 14th-15th June 2014.

I thought I'd include some images from our Le Mans trip to inspire you for next year!

This year we were staying in a beautiful chateau to the East of the circuit with Hospitality via Aston Martin. Next year, we'll probably stay in the same venue with Hospitality naturally through Porsche...

Hi, if you're still interested in coming with us, I've added Le Mans as a trip to the website only last week...

Let me know.

No, that's La Chartre... Brilliant location for Friday - we go there every year.

Thanks - looks like a lot of great cars. How far is it from the circuit?
If someone was to camp at the circuit with the tent already supplied, can it be done without a car?

No, it's about 30 minutes drive. Amazing location, lots of history. John Wyer always housed his teams at the Hotel de France in La Chartre - so that was with Aston Martin (with the DBR1) in the 50's, Ford (with the GT40) in the 60's and Porsche (with the 917) in the 70's. They worked on the cars down the side of the hotel and then (usually) drove the cars to the circuit on race day! Can you image seeing the Le Mans Winning Aston Martin DBR1 driving past you as you're out for your breakfast baguette!

We have lunch at the Hotel de France each year on the Friday before race day. A great location, steeped in so much history thanks to Wyer... If you can go, you should.

For context, I'm enclosing a pic of the Porsche 917's parked up in the square at La Charte, in front of the Hotel de France; and the Aston's parked out the front in 1959.
