Default Need advice on which mount to buy for my iPhone

Hi,
Listened to a couple members and upgraded to an iPhone and am buying Harry's Laptimer to capture track/autocross laps. Need a way to mount the device where it can "see" the lap and capture the video. But am a bit dismayed by all the options that are available. What window mounts do you suggest for this application? Or do I want a solid mount (do not have a rollbar)? Thanks in advance!

Used many, always go back to RAM. Solid and modular stuff, so if your phone goes out of date just buy a new cradle and re-use the arm and suction cup. Click on 'model specific' mounts. X mounts are for phones w/cases.

RAM, period. They have plastic and metal mounts.

+1.

Have used happily for many different things, including phones and GoPro.

Agreed on the RAM mount - I had a cheapo mount from Verizon for my iPhone 4 and upgraded to the RAM mount when I got my iPhone 5, and I must say that the Ram mount video is noticeably more stable even on the same track.

I had a cheap one from Amazon before I went the RAM route. It detached from the windshield into my passenger's lap at 130mph. RAM has stayed attached sometimes for weeks.
