This second picture is EXACTLY why I stopped racing shifter Karts. I might still have the helmet that was spit along the top as this 16 year old kid dive bombed to the inside on the first lap, hit my rear wheel and went up and over me. He came down on my helmet at first and the rear sprocket split the top of my helmet.
When I got back to the pits his dad actually came over to me and yelled that I should have known his son was the fastest kart on the track and that I should have let him buy. Right before I threatened to beat him to death with my wrench I stuffed the qualifying times in his mouth so that he could digest how I out qualified his kid by more than 2 seconds ( and I was mid-pack!).
When he reported me to the police because I wanted to beat him to death, no one in the pits backed up his story. Put my kart up for sale the next weekend and bought my first 911.

Vulcan nerve grip would have been much more effective

Did the kid driving the other kart by chance end up buying a cup car?
