Default The Restoration (before, during and after RA incident photos)

I had a "brush" with the wall on the front straight at Road Atl over a month ago.
Here are some before during and after photos. Apologies for the ones on the side but my tech took them. If someone can rotate them (or tell me how) please do:

Before (taken couple months before the incident) and about 10 mins after:

It did. Not wet enough for rains at that point but still wet.

We bought front end clip off a rear-ended 996 and fitted, then painted it:

And exterior. CF hood did not arrive in time so used old steel one. But it was together after being a mess.

You just had to replace the front clip ?
None of the suspension was damaged ?!

Actually, on second review, looks like plenty of the front suspension was damaged. Front cross member, LCA, toe rod…
Sorry.

I'm going to RA at the PCADE June 1-2.
Maybe they'll move those intimidating concrete walls back for us...

Yes and no.

On the Friday, I raced with NARRA (for the first time- that was a trip, but a separate thread) to shake the car down. It ran straight and true but the front drivers side shock (JRZ) kept coming apart after about half dozen laps or so- which was er, disconcerting. Not the mounting points but the actual threaded nut that holds the internals together. We thought it was a bent shock rod/piston but after straightening it in a press that night (it was out a few 100ths) it continued to do it the next morning.

We swapped in a Moton Clubsport for the race which worked ok. There must be some internal in the JRZ that is damaged. Its been sent off for a rebuild.

This pic shows the old vs. new nicely.

Todd did a great job.
From the car painted on the trailer it was less than a week to the final photos.
He said once the clip was on everything lined up and bolted on. No bending or persuading things into place. That helped a lot.

so that accident did not move the suspension points? I see you did not replace the shock tower mounting thingies. Did you put it on a frame rack and check to see if it is still square?
