Slightly off topic, but we are talking about Priuses (or is that Priusi? Priusee?) and, indirectly, environuts: Am I the only one that throughly enjoys the firing of the instructor group engines just after the driver's meeting at a DE? It is so politically incorrect and just shatters the morning silence. It's honestly one of my favorite parts of the weekend.

I love environmentally frugal cars. As tow vehicles? Optimistic at best. My own experience with Priii (?) is that they are either going 85 MPH + in the right lane, hauling ***, or 10 below the limit in the left lane, sanctomoniously blocking traffic.

Picture looks real to me.

I love the smell and sounds of the track. I also love taking a nap in between runs to the sound of the cars going around the track. For some reason I find it very soothing. Weird?

As for energy efficiency, I have my doubts about hybrids when you consider the entire life cycle of the product. My big rub is, as a taxpayer, I don't want to be subsidizing it. If it is a true energy saver, it shouldn't need my help or anybody else's help encouraged with the barrel of a gun.

My wife had an '89 Honda CRX HF. That thing got 58 MPG on the highway going 70 MPH using nothing more than light weight and a very long stroke 4 banger as it turned only 1800 or so RPM at 60 MPH. Great, simple little car that was completely owner financed.

The two times I've used their car hauler I had to put in some bogus car since the 928 and 944 were kicked out.

They might have picked up the trailer with a different vehicle.

Me too....not on a public road, of course. I believe the car has a speed governor..it could be even faster. This little car has incredible torque and gets away from a stop sign surprisingly quickly. I have surprised a few folks with this feature.

I now have 215,000 miles on the 2004 Prius. Commuting from San Diego to teh California Central Coast is where the miles were racked up. It still gets 38 - 44 mpg, depending on how I drive it. Battery? Good as gold...the traditional battery was replaced once, but that is to be expected in any car.

So far, other than regular maintenance, I have put in a few tail light bulbs, that's it....the volume control on the radio broke off...no worries, there is a back up on the steering wheel. The factory radio is pretty marginal.

Prius (2)
Lexus (1), it's the 350 I believe, incredible little car, wife's company car.
Tundra, 115,000 miles, no troubles to report, tows like a demon.
Porsche 993 (Trailer Queen), although still street legal

People are often quick to dismiss the prius.
Most people that buy a prius want a fuel efficient car not a sports car. However, the prius is a gas burning automobile with one main distinction. It's optimized to save gas by means of its lightness and its hybrid drive (gas and electric) and economy mode acceleration curve.
Floor the Prius or turn
off economy and it skips as fast as another 4 cylinder gas burner out there and it does it at a better efficiency than most cars out there, even at 100 mph it consumes less gas than most at the same speed.
I've pushed my 2013 just short of 100 on occasion and did not strain to do it.
It's a modern car, most cars can do it with out issue, up hill.
I've travels coast to coast (round trip) for $320! Show me how many other cars do that

2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid. Decent looking, mine averages 45 highway, 49 town. Handles as well as the Honda Accord V6 I traded. Fords CVT is seamless. Plenty of pep when needed to get out into traffic. Best daily driver/business car I've had and I've had a bunch.
