I'll be there!! I like the Cayman Abby! A local guy that races NASA out at NOLA just bought a Cayman that was done by Napelton I think he will be out doing the DE during the race weekend.

I'll sign up tonight, looking forward to learning the track. Could use some ideas on where to stay, eat, available gas at the track, track notes... Thanks.

Gas is available at the track they have four pumps that have 87, 98, 104, 110 leaded at each one IIRC you will need a card though, I don't believe you can use cash.

The track has 2 restaurants on site. Both selling the same menu, one in the karting center that is always open, and the other is in the event center. Both are usually open on busy days like club racing weekends. The food is really good for a race track. Out of track dining is pretty much limitless, just a short drive from many places in New Orleans. Abby may have some specific recommendations.

Do you want to spend any time on Bourbon St. and French Quarter?

Let me know what you want to do and while here, and I will send you some info. Even if you plan to only go to and from track, let me know and I will send you some places that are close and away from the Bourbon St. scene..

Yes I did it was great. Came in on Wednesday and dropped the trailer and then spent a couple of days in the quarter at the Sheraton.

Then we came out to the track and enjoyed a great track and met a bunch of great people. The facilities a first class and the track was well seasoned at that point.

Here's a video for those who have not yet been to this great track.
Plan to be there at the NASA event in May again.

I favor the local's places, pass on the tourist stuff. I found it hard to find a bad meal in town, but I'd like to stay some what close to the track.

No frills and within 10-15 mins max from track (easy commute) in a good area with good places to eat.

A nicer place 15-20 mins from track in the heart of Metairie, so anything everything and minutes from the city.
