Default Selling Trailex, but need to clean first

Guys, I need to detail my open aluminum trailer before putting it up for sale.

It's been sitting outside and its a little grimy.

What do you guys use? I'm planning on a pressure washer and elbow grease, but not sure what cleaner to use. There are a number of auto, marine and RV products out there.

An acid wash will remove oxidation if that's the problem but it won't takeoff grease and grime.

When I bought mine it had been parked under a tree and was loaded with sap and grime. Remarkably, the power washer alone, without any solution whatsoever, cleaned it up perfectly. The aluminum looked fantastic when I was finished.

Agree with the above, if its grease oil and grime we Pre spray with a Good degreaser and then use boat wash on the rest. Makes for easy work. Taking it to a local power wash for cars also helps.

I used aluminum boat trailer spray, worked well but you have to be careful or it will leave uneven patterns.

I am told by my local Trailex dealer that NAPA Auto Parts makes an aluminum cleaner that works best. I plan to try it soon, but have no first-hand experience with it yet.

I use to clean mine with a good water soluble degreaser, brush and power washer. Need to be careful with the power washer near the bearings and lighting.

Let me know when you are ready to sell. I picked up a 996 track car a week ago. Still need to catch up with you about the build.

I'd say don't waste your time, these things pretty much sell themselves if price is right.

OK you have convinced me, I'll be posting it later in the FS forum with an as is price and a clean price. Thanks for the advice.

Steve will get you to agree to an as-is price then say it has to be cleaned...

Looks cleaner that Sean's Trailex now!
