Default Hankook Tire Pressures

Going to try a set of Hankook Ventus R compounds my next trip to the track. I know some of you guys have run them from past threads. What tire pressure do you usually run hot? About how many pounds PSI increase from cold to hot? I usually allow about 7 lbs with the Hoosier R6. The Hankooks are going on an SP3 944T.

Any other comment on what to expect appreciated.

Thanks

I have run Hankooks on my 3300 lb 993 for about a year, after some experimenting I ended up running same hot pressures as I did with the Hoosiers R6s,

On an SP2 car, I look for 38-42 hot.

On my 2,975 pd (with driver) 944 Turbo Cup I start about 7-8 pds low and like them at 36-37psi hot. Tried higher pressures and not as stable and worse tires wear. I run -3deg camber with 1/8" total toe at Sebring.

Bingo. We are about the same weight, same camber and toe. It's what I run at Roebling. Back off the right side about a half a degree at Road Atlanta. PSI is about where I ran the R6 Hoosiers, maybe a pound lower. Appreciate all the response. Gives me a great starting point.

I intend to track heat cycles. I find the Hoosier R6 gives up at around 12 to 14. Any feed back on the Hankook. Be glad to share my set up data, heat profiles, etc.

Did a recent Hankook tire test at Road Atlanta, ran the rear pressures from 35-41, quickest lap time and best feel was 34-35 front, 36-37 rear.

Hal, did you just buy those tires? Tire Rack says May delivery. Another Rlestr said he ran them last year and liked them, but they were not available until July. I want to try them this year as soon as they are available.

+1. This is where mine end up when I start them where I suggested above.

Check with Frisby Tire at Blackhawk Farms Raceway. Eric, the owner, always seems to have the Hankooks when Tire Rack is out. He is a great guy to deal with.

Randy,
Just got them last week. I think I remember some of the sizes not available for the 17s. I'm running 16's at Roebling.

Sounds like a good starting point, thanks

Depends on the weight of the car. Sure works great on mine.
