Sub Strap Mount Bar compatibility
Brey Krause makes a sub strap bar that mounts between the sliders and the seat brackets. They say they are compatible with 996 and 986 manual sliders. My drivers seat sub is bolted to the floor, but I wanted to mount the passenger side seat to the sliders to allow the sub to be effective in any fore-aft position.
I though the 944 rails were mounted the same distance apart, so figured these might work on a 944. Anyone have experience with these or know the dimensions and if it may fit for a 944 (or even an early 911 which I think is the same as the 944)?

The 944 rails are the same width, so that bar will work with a side mount seat in a 944, but you will only be able to use one set of the bolt holes, but that will be plenty strong enough.(it is strong enough for the seat after all) 996 manual sliders fit the 944 with a few minor mods.

Ok, thanks. I guess I could drill a 2nd pair of holes if I wanted to beef it up. I suppose the alternative is to fab a couple of L brackets and weld a piece of tube to it ( rather than buying the BK bar)

The Brey Krause holes match the 996 manual sliders/floor (different to 944) Yes it would be pretty easy to fabricate a solution, I think there is a porsche part available too.
