Default Aftermarket Accelerator Pedal Assembly

I have had way too many races ruined by the stock accelerator pedal in my '83 SC coming detached from the linkage or breaking. The latest was the Sebring enduro when a brand new OEM pedal broke at the hinge joint half way through. My friends have had similar experiences. What's the hot set up for aftermarket pieces, Hargett or something else? Thanks

Bluetooth makes an app for iphone i hear...really makes you one with the car.

Sorry Frank had too.

I think we welded the pin on my stock assembly when we had it out for the stuck throttle linkage.

We must be looking at two different things.

I scratched my head when I read what SkankyFrank wrote too......

I like this version of the pedal:

You're right, I was looking at something Zims has.

This is the one I am leaning towards...any real world feedback from racers?

I use a very simple and effective one made by 901shop.

Not cheap for sure. Has all linkages, cables and stops. Read the description that price is for a carb setup, call for something for the desired application.

Best part, never fails...!

funny that you are looking at the pedal. I ditched the entire throttle system alltogether except for the stock pedal. I am using a teflon coated tandem bike rear shifter cable and cable guide that runs from a bar on the pedal to a custom built throttle setup. Smooth as silk with good feel and no slop or loop feedback surges. No bell cranks, bushings, long and short rods, ball ends and all the other junk that changes with time and temp. 0.0 chance of not having a WOT due to some sloppy bushing on a bell crank or from body flex. Nice smooth ajustable pedal stroke and you can also ajust the pedal deg to throttle deg movement relationship as well as ratio. Nice to have the ratio ajustability but I found that 0 to full stroke of the pedal to 0 to full stroke of the throttle worked well. there is a spring loaded stop on the motor end so mashing the pedal does not strain anything but you still get 100% WOT when the pedal hits the floorboard stop. If I have an old school turbo I might tune in a bit more throttle to pedal in the bottom end and a bity less in the top end to atenuate the surge.
