Same question - is that a good thing or bad?
Have read that Porsche has determined that almost no one cross shops a cayman with a 911, so the factory may become more interested in promoting/racing it in the future.

Part of the 960 "Supercar" but you have to wonder if even that would have been permissible before VW came on.
Maybe he'll order up some factory support for Cayman just to show the old Porsche guard what's up.

That's what they are saying the in the 2014 Cayman article in the current issue of Excellence. They are quoting PCNA CEO Detlev von Platen as saying that Porsche is going to support and finance a Cayman based race series both in North America and in the world market. I consider it as likely as Caymans being sold with crocodile teeth painted on the front bumper...
