Default Magnus Racing Daytona Q&A Starting NOW!

Hi Everyone,

With the Rolex 24 only 3 days away, we really wanted to engage with our loyal Porsche fans over the next three days and answer any of your questions regarding preparation for our 997 GT3's this weekend. We've just unloaded the truck, and we're ready for tomorrow's practice.

Similarly, during the race, we encourage you to interact with us on live chat during our streaming webcast from the pits during the race, all on magnusracing.com.

Ask away!

Here's a little preview video on the week.

We will definitely say hi for you! Lars is still very fond of the old days in NorCal.

Just a reminder to everyone we're happy to answer any and all questions over the next few days. Today was our first day out of the track, running through tech inspection. Fairly low key, the real work begins tomorrow.

We do sell them for a reasonable price until the ban passes... unfortunately that might qualify for 13/13.

Nice video! Rookie question.

Regarding long and lat g loading. Do you guys look at max long g loading under braking and compare and predict what max lat g loading might be? Then, can I assume you use the data traces to compare drivers?

All the best this weekend!

Data traces are a normal part of driver and car development. The beauty of GRAND-AM and ALMS competition is having multiple drivers in the same car makes it very easy to overlay each driver to get an accurate read on time gain. We run a Motec system, and they've got a pretty good way of reading the exact gain/loss from moment to moment on the track.

Regarding g-loading, max G isn't as critical as looking at the relative balance between that and power down. With tire wear and nature of a Porsche Cup car, a lot of the attention becomes simply on watching the rear tires more that outright loading.

Tuned in to and enjoyed your webcast last year, and looking forward to doing it again this year. Good luck for a repeat.
