Willow Springs / Big Willow running a 1:32
Whats considered a good to very good time in a 08 or 10 GT3 from a skilled driver on this course ?
Performance tires or racing tires differences, and basically a stock set up.
From what I could find online a 1:32 is very good.

Time of year will make a big difference in lap times too. Jan temps can be near freezing, summer temps well over 100+ degrees. Wind and sand on the track all play a part at Willow Springs.

The fastest we ever ran the stock Cayman S on R6s was a 1:32.0, but that was several years ago so I suspect we could run low 1:31 now (driver improvement) if the car were back at that spec.
So, I suspect Mo is right at 1:30 for a good driver, with a 1:29 or lower possible with a real hot shoe.
Our current best is a 1:24.8 at a weight/RWHP of 9.01 with aero on slicks (see avatar).
Cheers,

I remember HH doing a sub 1:30 in a 10 GT3 at a GMG track day, but i dont remember what tires he was on.. all i know is they were not slicks as he drove the car to the track.
I think a 07-8 GT3 with R comps can do a 1:30 with good driver & 10 GT3 should be able to know 1-2 sec off that with the more aero, HP, and TQ.
My buddy did a 1:27 in a stock RS 4.0 with used R6's on a very cold day in Feb last year.

The "stock" GT3 comes from the factory on R-comps. While the Sport Cups are not as fast as the R6s, they are still a R-comp.

anyway, it's a pet peeve of mine..."my car is totally stock....except for <insert tire/brake/exhaust/chip mod>" which then makes apples to apples comparisons somewhat useless.
nice Cayman btw!

Willow is not a horsepower track. There are no 2nd-gear corners at all. Of course, horsepower never hurts.
I won't try to tell you the lap time you should be running. But here's an instructional video I made that might help you go faster.
