ST-Class Rivals Team Up For GX-Class Run At Rolex 24

(Vancouver, Canada) -- Drivers from two of Grand-Am's front-running Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge teams will put aside their rivalries at the upcoming Rolex 24 Hour race at Daytona, with the hopes that their combined efforts will result in a top-step-of-the-podium finish at the fabled event.
Vancouver-based Bullet Racing, a long-time competitor in the 24 Hour and noted Porsche racing experts, recently announced the driver line-up of their #22 Cayman GTR, which will contest the new GX-class against other Caymans and Mazda's new diesel-powered Mazda6. Regular Bullet hot shoe and WTCC star Darryl O'Young will join BimmerWorld owner James Clay and team drivers Dan Rogers and Seth Thomas, with Compass360 Racing's Karl Thomson rounding out the five-driver squad.
"When Grand-Am announced the GX class, we were pretty excited," noted Bullet's Steve Paquette. "We've built and run a number of these 3.8L GTR's out on the west coast and feel like the platform can take a win at Daytona. I'm pretty thrilled with our driver roster, too, and know these guys can get the job done."
Rogers, who shares the #82 BMW with Thomas in CTSCC's Street Tuner class, was instrumental in getting the rival drivers together. "I've raced with both James' and Karl's teams, as well as for Bullet, and know that we all have the same philosophy for the coming weekend: to finish first, first you must finish."
"For sure, we want to beat the Compass guys on Friday," remarked Clay, referencing the two-and-a-half hour CTSCC race that will take place the day before the 24. "But as soon as we're in the Rolex paddock, we're all driving for Bullet."
Thomson is equally enthusiastic. "I'm honoured to have the opportunity to race with this group of drivers, and especially with a Canadian team. Steve's brought back the iconic Bullet maple leaf livery, which I love. With Darryl being from Vancouver and me from Toronto, we'll hope to represent Canada well."
