There's a button on the steering wheel that allows you to turn the function on and off

What are the ducts over the rear wheels for?
Trans cooling and diff cooling

Most of that information can be found here

Apart from the Camaro tail lights I like it, much nicer looking than the previous versions. I'm sure it will be a monster performer. However, its nice to see that GM is up to its usual horrible standards on interior fit and finish. Seriously, this is the show car and this is the best they could do? I'd hate to see the interior panel gaps and misalignment on the production version. Just terrible attention to detail given they knew this car would be under the microscope.

Overall, ranges from ok to cartoonesque until you get to the back. There I have to take my hat off to Chevrolet. They have managed to make the back end of the Panamera look damn good!

I'm sure performance will kick ***, and once you upgrade the bits and pieces that can't handle the punishment of the track it will be a great car.

Local Detroit business radio station had some GM exec saying thanks to the UAW workers for helping put together suich exciting products.

How about us f**king taxpayers? The UAW got 20% of the company and the taxpayers got a 30 billion dollar shaft and the bond holders (property owners) got nothing. GM is also operating without taxation. Sales are propped up via government purchases of "Dolts".

I wouldn't buy their products If had a gun to my head. Literally. I hope if fails along with the rest of that unrestructured mess.

Sorry, I get to see and deal with this crap first hand and it's sickening.

Bullseye, couldn't agree more. I'm repulsed by the cut and paste design that leaves almost nothing that invokes corvette heritage.

All that said, I applaud GM for taking a chance and going futuristic with it, it just missed the mark for me. As others have said, I'm sure it will be tremendous bang for buck, it's just not for me. (While I'm fat and balding, I don't own any gold chains or show off my chest hair )

It's like PDK, sure it's faster but it's not for everyone's taste and needs.
So does the 2013+ 991 w/ Sport Chrono in Sport Plus mode. Dunno if the 981 do it as well. AFAIK there is no separate disable button for it other than not going into sport plus, but in a MT car I'm not sure why you would want/need Plus? Besides the race car shifts on Plus in PDK cars does anyone else know the differences between Plus and Sport?

How can you get rid of the signature circular tail lights?

Porsche found out that mistake when they made those hideous 996 headlights.

I would love to have that kind of power...

Does it still have the Vietnamese suspension leafs? Or, is the new Vette still offering antiquated suspension tech?

Anything new and interesting in the suspension department? (and no...the magnetic ride doodad is not new).

+1 Why settle with 4 when you can put 8 in there?

Otherwise not that bad but the rear is way too complicated, not good at all.

It's not exactly a Hotchkiss rear end, genius.

How long did Porsche use torsion bars for? Who cares, a spring is a spring. Unless you want to talk about effectiveness for weight.

Oh, wait, they're composite.

924RACR,

Let's backup a second here. Torsion bars are still used in modern suspension systems. They are used at the highest levels of motorsport on purpose. Is anyone designing an F1 car or Le Mans-style prototype with leaf springs? No.....

The fact the Corvette still using leaf springs is crazy. GM insists upon developing pushrod engines and leaf spring suspension systems for nostalgic and probably financial reasons.
