Default Schroth Harness Question

I need new harnesses for 2013, and am looking at the Profi II-Y. These have 3 in. Shoulder belts and 2 in belts over the HANS.

For those people using these,

Do you feel safer?
Was installation a hassle?
Does getting into them take a lot longer than regular HANS belts?

If you have track support to put you in the car, they are great. Very secure feeling.

If not I would skip them, the problem is you put the shoulder belts on under the Hans with the Hans belts over the Hans. Sounds easy but not so if you are doing it yourself. And the big issue is you can fool yourself by getting the shoulders tight and thinking the Hans are tight or vice versa. In a hurry sometimes you can get both belts over the Hans and defeat the purpose. I guess if you get used to it it would get better but the std. 2" Hans shoulders work best imho....

My belts time out this year as well. I will be changing to the Schroth Enduro. These, I am told by those who use them, are the easiest to use belts on the market. Their mounting points look to be exactly like the Schroth belts I will be replacing.

You can find them HERE. Scroll down.

DER951 - If you have a roll bar which allows you to mount the shoulder straps at the right distance apart for the HANS, you don't need to double strap type belts. Save money, save time (in and out) and as observed above avoid having one set loose.

Best,

Gotta admit I really like the Profi II-Y setup. Yes, it takes a bit more time to get into, but like anything you get quicker over time. It is really comfortable with the 3" shoulder belt on you, then the Hans tucked in on top with the 2". For track time and sprints I prefer it. I have a spare set of 2" shoulder belts for enduros

Quick reminder...

Schroth is implementing a price increase effective January 1.

For example:

The Profi II-6 with 3" shoulders is currently $350 - price is increasing to $385

The Profi II-6 HANS (3 to 2" shoulders) is currently $360 - increasing to $395.

We will honor the current price on harness orders if placed by December 31 but ship your order the first week in January so you have the freshest dated belts (FIA expiration of 2018). Any belts shipped prior to December 31 will have an FIA 2017 expiration date.

We will confirm your order and ship date (FIA date) prior to processing your order. Here's the link to our site or call if you have questions.

Stick with the standard Profi II 2"Hans Shoulder belts and don't add more stress to your seat time. Unless you have a crew working with you.... Then have at it.

Our biggest sellers are the Profi IIH 6-pt and the Enduro belts.

Both are available in HANS-specific versions, too.
