True. To Ferrari's credit they admitted they cut Massa's tranny seal where they could have just said he had a problem and I understand team orders are legal so why should this be any different. I just wouldn't want it to be done to screw up a competitor to put them on a dirty side of the line or directly in front of Roman Grojean . Still hard to police because a team could say that they have a problem with the equipment.

Ferrari eyeing Vettel
Luca di Montezemolo has admitted that Sebastian Vettel would be the ideal replacement for Fernando Alonso.
Ferrari would jump at the chance to sign Sebastian Vettel, admits president Luca di Montezemolo – but only as a replacement for Fernando Alonso.
Speaking at the Scuderia's annual Christmas celebration, di Montezemolo praised the German for his third world title and conceded that he would be the ideal replacement for Alonso as and when the Spaniard decides to hang up his helmet.
“If for whatever reason, Alonso was to retire, then I'd like Vettel, a driver who has his feet on the ground and a great will to win,” Montezemolo revealed, “It was [Michael] Schumacher who pointed him out to me a few years ago, as he knew him from the time when Sebastian was still racing karts. I have to admit Michael was right but, having said that, I am immensely happy to have Alonso in our team!”

Poor Alonso...Luca's eye is wandering again. If she only had a WDC, maybe Luca would be more faithful. But at least Santander still has money.
Much like Moses, the name Alonso will be stricken from Maranello.
But, there is still hope... The red 2013 Sauber.
Memo to Luca.
Driving for Ferrari doesn't have the same allure it once had. It does give you Bernie's affection and preferential treatment and extra Constructors' funds, but that doesn't make up for the Marx Brothers team strategy and design.

^^^ I dont think it would matter if Alonso had a WDC with Ferrari or 7. Michael was let go before his time as was Kimi. Luca is not the marrying type he could have the hottest supermodel in the world on his arm and have his eyes across the room at another flavor of the month. If you drive for Ferrari and hear Luca say that you just drove the best you have ever driven, start packing you bags..... it's over.

Alonso will stay at Ferrari as long as Santander says so. I doubt Santander would let Luca use their money to buy out their driver.
Without a WDC, Alonso's stay at Ferrari will be as memorable as Fisichella.

That was a nice video, thanks for posting. Used it to check out AirPlay from iPad to TV via AppleTV...looked good.
I had almost forgotten that Deitrich was at AbuDhabi in 2010.
Ferrari should do one of those for Alonso...it could be 30 seconds, not too expensive to produce.

Happy New Year Lewis..... here you go, time to get the blood stirring again...
Ecclestone hoping Alonso wins 2013 title
3 January 2013
Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone is eager for a change at the top of the pecking order this season, with the 82-year-old arguing that 'it wouldn't be too bad' for the sport if Fernando Alonso wins the 2013 title. The Spaniard has not claimed honours since 2006, while Ferrari is searching for its first Constructors' crown since 2008.
Following Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull's three-year run of championship success, Ecclestone says a new leader would be be positive, highlighting Ferrari in particular.
"I explained that Vettel is a true champion, but that he’s still young and can only improve in terms of being a character in the sport and in terms of his personality," Ecclestone told daily Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport. "As for Alonso, after three years of dominance by Red Bull it wouldn’t be too bad a thing if we were to have a change at the top of the sport, perhaps with Ferrari leading the way again."
After 11 Formula 1 campaigns, Alonso has two Drivers' titles to his name. In 2012, Sebastian Vettel joined the illustrious group of triple World Champions alongside Jack Brabham, Sir Jackie Stewart, Niki Lauda, Nelson Piquet and Ayrton Senna.

Someone please shoot the man, obviously his deal with Beelzebub precludes him from dying of natural causes so it's going to take an intervention to rid us of his dribble....
His blatant favouritism honestly gets very old. Seeing him slobbering all over Vettel in Vettel's cockpit at Interlagos made me sick to my stomach. Now he is sucking up to Luca again...
If you ask me it would have been better for F1 had Alonso and Ferrari won this year (my opinion only here, I'm not an Alonso apologist, nor a blind tifoso, I just thought Fernando's driving was deserving of the title this year).
What I want to see next season is Kimi winning the title in a Renault (no, I will never call it a Lotus, the only thing Lotus about that car is the sponsorship and throwback colour scheme).

I wouldn't put Alonso in the top 10 of all time either. He had a good year in 2012 and is certainly talented, but his first WDC came because of a rule change where driver could only use 1 set of tires for an entire race. I mean what is that? The second WDC came through default because of a blown Ferrari engine at the end of the 2006 season, hardly something to crow about. Alonso doesn't compare to the greats of F1 over it's 60 year history.
