Yeah, I remember helping you sort it out. I just can't believe you can walk away from it. But if you are looking at progressing your driving "career" sometimes going backwards with respect to vehicle is moving forwards. I've personally given Spec B some serious thought over the last 6 months.

Note the irony on both sides - would have been one hell of a race.

No doubt we'll all be back though...

Yep.
While I will be back, myself driving, and supporting other customers, I am no longer maintaining Jay's cars that I built and previously supported/crew chief/wrenched on for him.

Hmmm....I'll drive for you next year! Just build it air-cooled, loose and a strong rear brake bias. Tehe...

Seriously bummed to hear about you letting go of this awesome car. No one deserves it like you do. I hope that your business opp works out for the best, and that we'll see you in another 964 soon!

I've spent many laps in this beauty. It is a wonderful car to drive with no bad habits. Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to drive it on a longer track where the motor can show its stuff. The sound is worth the price of addmission.

I've been fortunate to drive 996 Cups, 997 Cups, and most recently at GT3R. Kai's 964 is more fun to drive than any of them.

I hate to see it leeave, but if it does it will go straight to the front where ever it is raced.

How many hours before the engine needs a refresh?

Scott, all the case internals are stock (ARP bolts and new bearings/rings); compression remains stock also, i.e. the engine is not stressed.

I shift at 6,800, and videos will show that I downshift late (i.e. the engine has never been overreved). The power gains were made with intake and exhaust, as well as great head work by Gamroth's shop - as well as good mapping with the Motec M84.

The car is fast because it's a total package: Suspension, the 5.5" clutch, the short tranny and the tractable engine with ***** down low also.

All this adds up to what I would consider a strong engine which should not need refreshening for some time to come
