Just a quick shout-out and public thanks to SpeedSouth of Alabama (close to Barber Raceway).
Last month I developed a noisy left rear wheel bearing while turning laps at Barber - likely cause by a defunct CV joint with too much slop.
With a weekend at VIR in just a few weeks, I left my car in the capable hands of Jim & crew who did a great job replacing both rear half-axles and both rear wheel bearings (that was my decision for preventative maintenance and repair, not their over-call) in just a few weeks.
While primarily a Corvette shop, they can work on anything as proven by their ability to get the job done professionally for exactly what the estimate was, keeping me (located back in Canada with the car still down south) in the loop for progress and status reports the whole time.
They also tracked down and fixed a small transmission cooler leak gratis.
Thanks guys and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in the area.
