Chin Motorsports / Road Atlanta situation
Folks, apparently Chin had an event recently at Road Atlanta. I was not there. I have heard from multiple sources that there may have been an on track incident which may have left the driver with injuries to which he eventually succumbed. Obviously, I do not subscribe to or participate in the rumor mill...but this seems to have some credibility associated with it.
Can anyone here address whether I heard this right and if so whether there is anything from a safety or safety equipment perspective that we can learn from what may or may not happened?
thanks.

Gee, Dave. Is this the venue to ask that?
Why not send a PM to the leadership team and get the straight scoop first, maybe?

The last Chin date there was nearly three weeks ago. I can't believe this wouldn't be all over the intarweb by now...

From the description, it was a common mistake of tracking out wide at Turn 5, getting the right wheels up on the wide rumbles and trying to pull the car back left. When the tires gripped, the car shot left into the concrete barrier. This is perhaps the most common mistake at Road Atlanta. The same thing happens at the bottom of Turn 12, when the left tires get off.

Oh my God, that is awful. RIP. I have some safety questions but will start another thread, not appropriate to post them here.

I never knew the guy, but it seems like he deserves more than to be just some guy, so here is the obituary.

Very sad indeed. I have a lot of laps at RA and it is a high risk circuit. Drivers must be wary.
