Don't worry folks. It's okay. It's an afternoon thing. It's been a bit tropical as of late. By the time I got to the body shop to pick up the car, the rain had stopped. It's just one of those seasons. Come on down!

Default Daytona Wrap

I'd like to thank all the racers, DE folks, volunteers, Daytona security and staff for another great weekend at Daytona. We did have a bit of rain on Saturday but nothing like last year. Very managable. I'm sure the enduro yesterday was a challenge for the cup guys because of the speed differentials but it made for some great viewing and racing.
You can put Daytona Oktoberfast on your PCA racing calendar for 2013!!

Allen, thank you, your team, PCA Natl staff and the corner workers for another great event.

I wish my rain tires would have arrived from the supplier.... That slide at 116 mph must have fun to watch....

See you next year!

Default Daytona Slide

The slide that Juan is talking about (I believe) was before and after the start finish line by Sid Collins of Troysport in front of 120 + spectators doing lunch in the 500 Club lounge. Many thanks to Sid for providing the multi-spin entertainment..now that's a show. Sid is a National SCCA Champ many time over and he said that was the only time that has ever happened in his over 30 years of racing at Daytona!!! I'll post some of the pictures later.

It was a 3,400 foot extravaganza with nine complete pirouettes.

Allen,

I was thinking of mine but I did hear about Syd's....

Mine started at 115.9MPH right after exiting NASCAR 4, by the time i got to the grassy area at the tri-oval, I was still moving at 89MPH.

Talk about aqua planing....

Now I know why the NASCAR boys don't race in the rain.... I knew about Lake Lloyd but about "Lake Tri-Oval"

Allen-

Thanks for doing what you do and putting that all together so we can go race at a really cool venue. I enjoyed the dryer weather this year but the second sprint in the rain was my favorite of the weekend!

Juan - Thanks for letting me squeeze through in Nascar 4....

Default Daytona Water Spins

A friend was shooting some 8f/sec of the start/finish mayham. Will get them up in the next several days. Juan, sorry I missed your excitement...will review photos and post them if shot. NASCAR doesn't come close!!!
Don't forget about the CMP race 26-28 Oct. Extremely well run and a blast to race. Last race of East Coast 2012 swing.
