Oh God, I guess I heard right.
Sorry that happened, hope you're ok Dan, sounded like you got out.
It could always be worse, but I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Man, so sorry to see that again. Holy Smokes Dan, I am impressed you got your hands off the wheel and held onto your helmet. Quick thinking. Glad you are o.k. Is the car totalled? Hope you are recovering.

JAYSUS! That did not go well at all! Glad you are OK. I'll miss that car. That one has to rank among the best engine sounds since engines made sound.

Dan,
Wow, what an unfortunate incident. Admired the car many times in the paddock. Hope everything works out to get that car back where it should be, racing! Scary incident, was there watching, glad you are OK!

That is not fun to watch but glad everyone walked away. Also it's sad how fast a nice investment in fun can be gone in a heartbeat.

Thanks for the nice words, folks. Unfortunately the car is totaled - not worth rebuilding, primarily because the expensive end of the car took all of the damage (fresh motor and tranny). Hats of to Peter, Kevin and Trevor Dawe who, over the past 4 years, developed an amazing car. It held 5 or so class lap records and was in striking distance of several more. Truly a blast to drive and a real drivers car.

As for me, physically I'm fine but mentally a bit on the ragged side. Not sure what I will do next, but it will involve racing, for sure.

Until you seriously wreck your race car, I'm not sure that you completely understand what the car really means to you. Some folks may not feel that way of course, but I suspect that for many people it's more than just money.

Sorry to see this happen to you.

Dang, that was a nasty one.

Don't rush the decision on the next step, take your time and give the psyche some time to recover - you'll get there.

My wife always has a running bet, after I have a hard hit or lousy weekend, on just how long it'll take me to get over it and be just as hardcore as ever, out in the garage and working on the racecars. Obviously not as big as your hit, but she's usually right, never takes me as long as I think...

It's just too good a drug to give up...
