Gotta luv Haggerty. The fire could source have been smoldering for a long time before it got enough energy to actually reach flame stage.

Not at all uncommon, a dragging trailer brake gets hot, sets the hub on fire and poof...ive seen at least three guys/race teams loose cars and complete race rigs including a stacker full of BMW grand am cars... Sad part is most of us carry insurance on trailers/contents but often forgo a race car...

Just another great reason to install a remote tire pres/temp monitor on the trailer tires.

I can't even begin to say how happy I am with mine.
