HUGE Grand Am Conti series fan...pulling for BGB mostly. Tis is some of the best road racing going. I can really relate to the cars too since the 997 Porsche's are running the same engine that is in my GTS. However the racing is close wheel to wheel stuff.

We (Autometrics) have been racing a Boxster in the ST class for most of this season. It is an incredibly competitive series. The racing is close! A car misses the apex, gets a little loose ect.. and 3 cars pass. The pit stops and the strategy have to be spot on, and most of guys race you very hard while staying as clean as possible. (there are of course those drivers that are over their heads and cause problems but the top guys are some of the best road racers in the country.) Grand-Am definitely has their preferred cars though. There has been a lot of talk around the paddock about parity in the ST class but little seems to be done about it unless you are a factory team. It is awesome watching the races on tv and seeing such huge fields. A lot of fun to race in.
