Default Cool Shirt Tubing - Through pocket or zipper?

Now that I have a cool shirt system in the car and the temps have been getting nastier, it's time to try the thing out.

Some people tell me they run the cool shirt tubing through a hole in their fire suit 'side' pocket while others tell me they simply hang it out the zipper like you're wearing a **** bag.

What do most of you do?

I had a tailor cut a slit at the top of the left pocket and stitched like a button hole...cost about $15.

Yep, for the time being.

I intend to ultimately fashion an exit for the tubes on the side of my suit.

I use the zipper because it is the perfect location considering I have the hoses go underneath the seat from behind and up the front of the seat. That keeps everything in the right place but completely out of the way.

Left pocket so that the lines run up beside the eat and out of the way. Small cut [without the tailoring touch] several years ago. Still fine today.

Should be two zippers. Out below the bottom zipper. And I think women will think that walking around with tubing coming out of my crotch is very sexy and cool.

Or... At least thats what the one who loves me says

What he did. But the first time they sewed the slit I cut shut! They did not realize I wanted the slit and to stitch around the hole!

I kinda thought it might be a good idea to keep fire away from my crotch, so I cut a hole in the left pocket 1/4 way up from the bottom. If it's too high up and near the opening, I thought it might allow heat and fire to enter the hole. Too far down and I lose all of the marbles that I leave in my pockets.

This. Works like a charm and no unraveling or fraying of the material.

In my old suit I had a tailor open the suit at the waist and insert a 3-layer nomex cloth 'tube' that I could thread the hose through when I used them and the tube was long enough to simply collapse and provide protection when not used (it was 6" long, 3" on each side). My new Momo suit has a flap that covers with a hole just above the waist that can be opened and used to thread the tubes through. I think I have pictures at home, I could post tonight.

My wife did this for me with a bit of reinforcing material toward the top of the left pocket. It has held up quite well.
