Hey guys, I'm out of town and not able to watch quali. Looks like the Ferrari is fast with FA qualifying 3rd. What happened to Massa in 17th? Was it a team blunder with strategy or something else???? Maldonado in 2nd???? WOW.

Alonso is consistently better than Massa in all aspects of practice, qualifying and racing, so nothing new here. However this was a bizarre and disappointing qualifying session. Red Bull looked good in practice but for some dumb reason was out there in Q1, Q2 driving at about 75%. Webber did not even make it into Q3. Then in Q3 Vettel did not even bother to log a hot lap (he was out there on two different outlaps). Both Mercedes cars also appeared not to be trying in Q3 with Rosberg putting in a less than fast lap and Schumacher not even doing a lap. Button was complaining about an understeering car in practice as well a qualifying and failed to make it into Q3. The only people that appeared to try for a good lap in Q3 was Hamilton, Maldonado, both Lotus cars, Perez and Alonso. From my perspective definitely a disappointing qualifying session the way Red Bull and Mercedes did not even bother trying.

Hamilton loses pole due to fuel level. This makes life interesting.

It was an exciting Qualifying Session. McLaren is still having crew issues. It will be a fun race. Maldonado putting Williams on Poll makes it interesting which I like.

Williams on pole? Lewis starting next to Karthikeyan? Alonso primed to win? RB and Merc off the pace? What a season.

Apparently the last few minutes of Q2 the track came right up fast and that's the main reason for all the sudden changes. People like Button, Webber, Vettel started going backwards rapidly. Tyres are crucial at this track so there was a real gamble not to go back out there. Webber lost that gamble. Get the distinct impression that the finishing positions won't reflect the starting ones.

That sucks for Lewis. He's getting some tough breaks.

McLaren's been prone to mistakes this season, they've given away points almost every weekend.

I just read that Hamilton will lose his P1 and start at the back because McLaren short fueled him. WOW!!! The press in England is torching Whitmarsh and the constant blundering. They seem to make the most elementary mistakes week in and week out. The fans what LH to leave Mac and go to another team.

Yes the team really hurt both Lewis and Jenson yesterday. The qualifying laps by Lewis and Pastor were stunning. Shame Lewis had to lose his because of the team. The good thing though is that Lewis continues to show his improved attitude in dealing with setbacks.
