Monaco GP question
For those of you who have been to the Monaco f1 GP, can you recommend a restaurant to watch the gp2/support series on Friday morning? I'm dialed in for the weekend on a yacht, but I want to take my kids on fri, so they can see a little action.
Thanks

Yes, i think there are a few butlers on board! The yacht is in a good location- u can see the cars come out of the tunnel and go through the chicane along with a view of a big screen.

There's the tiny little place on the uphill (after T1) from where you can see the whole harbor.
Pasta is pretty damn bad, you sit on plastic chairs and the house wine sucks but the view is awesome. Not 100% sure how to get there since it's on the side of the track where you can't walk, most likely with the elevator from the harbor side near the pool area.
Also where the elevator is, there are couple of restaurants where you see the harbor well. Hotel Miramar is one of them, their restaurant has a nice terrace. Actually even a bit closer but not so high and there's trees that block a view a bit. Never ate there but had a beer or two at the terrace, they're on an avenue J.F. Kennedy which should be in front of you based on what you said where you are "parked".
Hotel Port Palace is also on that street and has a restaurant but not sure how the view is.
Then of course there's Cafe De Paris where you're close to the action but you won't see much from there.
I'd take a walk on J.F. Kennedy and check out those places there, for GP2 you probably are able to get in without needing to be there some ridiculous time earlier.
Dialed in on a yacht for the weekend of Grand Prix or Monaco...? I wouldn't leave it until it's night time, your kids should see plenty of action from there.
And I think I hate you a bit...

Thanks for the recommendations-that is very helpful. I'm actually not staying on the yacht at night- it is just a sat/sun viewing package along with some parties at night. I'm really looking forward to it. I normally wouldn't have gone so all out, but a friend of mine has a company that has this VIP/yacht monaco GP package that I couldn't pass up!

I sat in Casino corner a couple years. There is an awesome place just west of the parking garage entrance by the Casino. Right beside the scooter rental place with a billion pink scooters sitting out front.
I enjoyed watching the street vendors bore out the baguettes to stuff a hot dog in it. (Actually when you read that it sounds a little warped...)

Well, actually, I have but only because of scheduling issues. Again for this year friend of mine offered to borrow his apartment with balcony overlooking the harbor but I can't go...
Not spending the night on the yacht? Who cares when you get to watch the races from one and even have some evening parties there too... Absolutely fabulous!
