Smile R.L.C. Data Loggers in my home town???

Anybody have any feedback on the R.L.C. Data Loggers? On paper, this is a fantastic system.

Gott en Himmel, what do I find out but R.L.C. Data Loggers are a Paso Robles, CA company. They make an OBD II compatible Data Logger system, the Sport, and the Pro S. I called them today..they actually picked up the phone and answered all my questions. I am going over later in the week for a system demo.

You can get a brake pedal position sensor in addition to a throttle position sensor to feed into the unit. Sure an accelerometer would give you the rough data, but an actual sensor on these two key parameters is critical if one wishes to fine tune their driving.

Cheap? Not exactly....$2,295 for the system with the big screen, 7"...and extra for the seniors and more for some other neat stuff.....what part of Porsche racing did you think you would be cheap?

For that much, I think I'd start looking at the MoTeC CDL. Many other systems include one or two camera video for that money.

I don't know of any quality data systems that are $500 or more that can't accept brake pressure sensors. The CAN is nice but many systems above $1650 will accept that, too.

Shiny literature and pretty pictures, though.

I just don't know anyone that uses RLC.

What is there software like? The logging part is really only probably 1/3 of the analysis process.

Gott en Himmel again, also local is Veracity Data...they sell almost every thing, but R.L.C. I am sure they will be great for a second opinion. By the time you get the options on the table, and were to go with the bigger screen...one would be close to a $3,000 expense. Add the wireless query, now you are getting close to the cost of the Motec CDL.

The Motec CDL "logger also has an optional OBDii plug which allows the unit to pull data from factory street cars through a CAN-based OBDii port on any 2007 and newer vehicle."

It is about $3,600 and in addition, it is looking for 2007 and later OBD II. I have a 1997 car, so that is out.

The testimonial of users will be a big part for me. I know lots of guys with Data Loggers. My quest is ramping up.

Then go speak to David and Ellen Ferguson at Veracity Data. They are simply the best on the West Coast, they sell multiple systems and you have already indicated you have the budget to do it right the first time!
