the 10,600lb number you reference seems to come from "How It Works" - that is also the only reference I could find on GCWR for the Q7. It only makes sense in the context of a non tow package equipment Q7, otherwise the Q7 would be over gross combined weight with just a 6600 pound trailer, without even adding a driver.

The door jamb sticker lists a GWR of 6834 pounds for the vehicle alone, and a 6600 tow capacity. No gross combined weight is listed. The owner's manual only states to ensure that the tow vehicle is heavily loaded when towing to help promote tow vehicle stability. Interestingly, this is opposite most domestic ratings, which lower tow rating, as you load the tow vehicle. In the absence of a factory limited GCWR, the default would seem to be GWR + towing cap= 13,434 in my case.

Anyone have an official reference on the GCWR for a tow-package equipped Q7?
quite good mileage.......

Maybe step up to a bigger SUV......something like the Mercedes GL series...you can get a diesel in those too.... Still a luxury SUV to keep the wife happy during the week & a bit more pulling power for you!

It is odd that there isn't any GCWR anywhere in the owners manual?
