AiM Solo DL Protocol list
#31
Guys
I've updated the table on page 1. I've sent this table off to AIM to see if we can get better them to add the proper protocols on many of the Porsches that require the generic now. I'll let you know when I get more information.

No go. There is not a protocol that has useful information for the Solo DL (or other AiM loggers) present at the OBD II port of the 993 cars, AFAIK.
I am making different recommendations for 993 owners interested in data loggers and data overlaid video.
Remember, the Solo DL is designed for cars built 2006 and later. The purpose of this thread is to note additions and earlier models that may work with limited functionality. Good luck.

getting stepped RPM from the 01 CUP with updated ECU (i think). Anyone know if....
1. this ECU is newer than the 01 cup one? I've read it is 996-618-608-91 while mine say 996-618-601-90 which seems to be older, right?
2. I've set HZ upto 100 re the config for the SOLO re RPM but still getting steps - any other way to try?

Connect the Solo DL to your laptop, open Race Studio 2, select System Configuration, select Solo DL, select "Receive" configuration, select "clone" to make a duplicate, and change the sampling rate on RPM to 20 HZ or 50 HZ and "Transmit" back to the Solo DL.
We'll keep looking into this. May be a sw glitch.

Updated table on OP to add 991 using OBD II connector. Decent data, but not everything. The Porsche and Bosch protocols did not work with OBD connection. John Tecce is hard wiring to CAN and will let me know the results. The list of available data from the 991 ECU is amazing.

Since I have tested this before (using another, less bespoke protocol) and had no trouble, then I think it's likely a bug in the software related to the most recent Mk2 (CAN from the OBD-II) protocol release. We'll get this resolved ASAP.
