Default Q on GoPro and Traqmate

When you use the controller module with the GoPro and Traqmate, does it record the video automatically with the data overlay, or do you still have to sync it through TraqStudio before you can usefully view it?

Thanks,

You must download the video from the SD card on the GoPro and the data from the Traqmate, then sync it through TraqStudio.

Without TraqStudio, there is no "video window" option within the data review screen nor is there data overlay during analysis or exported to a file, DVD or YouTube.

Unlike the SmartyCam or Video VBOX, you combine this information later with using Traqmate data and video.

So the only real advantage is it starts and stops in sync?

The major advantage is that it a) turns the GP power on and off, b) starts and stops the GP recording according to the GPS lock and finishing a session, c) allows you to bring up the video synced already in the data window.

For some people, it makes a big difference not having to hit a bunch of buttons to power up and power down as well as start and stop the camera, THEN having to figure out where and how to sync the data with the video. It simplifies matters immensely, IMO.

TraqStudio can match just about any video manually to the data to produce data overlays, but this is a simple, bullet-proof AUTOMATED solution. That's all.

To do the whole deal, you need the Traqmate supplied interface box, the cables that come with it and a copy of TraqStudio software plus, of course, the Traqmate and a GO Pro HD Hero or HD Hero 2.
