I would certainly look at the Autometrics car.
Very well sorted, plus you'd be dealing with Gordon, a gentleman.
Honest and fair...

Tim, sorry to hear you had an engine failure. You have a very nice car I am surprised no one has bought it yet.
Just made a deal on mine today so it is already sold.

How does one figure out appropriate pricing for race cars? Just in this thread I'm seeing asks from $27,000 to $45,000 for a spec series car!

There really are different levels of prep, even in a Spec series. Some people will replace EVERYTHING with new parts, others just use the old donor car parts and then just replace as things go bad.
Then add in considerations for cosmetics, data or no data, asking prices vs sell prices, distressed sales, simple roll cages vs very complex (read-safer and stiffer) roll cages. Some spec cars start as low mile cars some as higher mile cars. All these things effect the prices you see and can vary substantially for good reason.

I've built Spec cars for Spec Miata ranging from $7500 - over $30,000. I've done P-cars for NASA,SCCA, and PCA where we go as basic as possible so they can race the car they have in the budget they have and just spend a couple thousand, and I've built cars with over $100k in upgrades to be really race ready
