Default Cobra Evolution GT (wide) seat in a 951?

Does anyone have experience fitting the Cobra Evolution GT (wide) seat in a 951?

Any issues or anything I should think about? Are there side mount brackets out there to make it work?

With the wide seats in my car I relocated the mounting points to make them accessible. I also welded some flat stock to the seat brackets in order to extend them. That coupled with the altered mounting points make it pretty easy to install and remove the seats.

I have that seat in my car with a Sparco slider and B-K side mounts. No problems with mounting to the factory points.

I fit Cobra Suzuka GT seats in my 951 with no real issues.

Thanks everyone! Good to hear! I did some tape measure work to compare with the Corbeau seat I am currently using, its just so hard to tell without having both seats here.

Here's a photo of the Sparco sliders (with B-K front tube) and B-K side mounts in my car:

Sorry for the big picture--I forget Reutterwerk resizes but RL doesn't!

Julian, thanks for the photo, that helps! That pretty much settles it, I'm going to go down this road. The peace of mind from a HANS plus the side head enclosure on the Cobra seat is well worth it to me.

By the way, the paint on your floor is nicer than the paint on the outside of my car. Shame on you!

It's powdercoating . . . threads on Reutterwerk's 968 forum.

Did you fix the car or have to swap the whole tub out?

I was lucky enough to secure an unused tub to use for my project.

Luckily fixable Paul although not quite fixed yet! Good thing because tubs here aren't as clean and available as some parts of the states.

The only thing I'd be slightly concerned about is running a seat with Halo on anything but a full track car. You lose a lot of peripheral visibility with them. Having said that, I did consider one of these seats due to the cut out in the Halo. Be interested to hear your thoughts once it's in?

Julian, what's with the carbon footwell? Very snazzy!

EDIT: Just read your thread on R-werks. AMAZING!! Asked a couple of questions if you get the time.

Just a sheet of CF for the floor where the feet go--I had a piece laying around. I had used plywood for the previous car and decided to use the CF for the new car.

Thanks for the kind comments.

I'll update for sure once its in and spring comes to the far north. Over the last few years the 951 has only really left the garage to go to and from track events, so it sees very limited street use, never during rush hour. I'm sure it will be a pain, but how much, we'll see.
