Default Steel Lug Nuts

Folks,

I need to buy some steel lug nuts for my 911 race car. The aluminum wheels have 60 degree conical steel inserts. So I need 14 x 1.5 conical lug nuts.

I have found these:

http://www.race-studs.com/servlet/th...,-Steel/Detail

and these:

http://www.tulipcitywheels.com/tcwst...t_detail&p=310

For this purpose, are steel lug nuts just steel lug nuts and it doesn't matter which I buy? Or is there a reason to get one set of lug nuts over the other?

Anyone have a better option?

Thanks,

Scott

Think you would want these....

Hardened steel, the black oxide helps lubricate.

Scott,

You want a steel lug nut thats hardened steel and has a curved shoulder, not one with straight angled sides to ensure proper mating with the wheel.

I do carry German ones.

Steve,

My wheels do not have the Porsche-style "ball" seats. My wheels have 60 degree "conical" (sometimes called "tapered") seats.

Do you have access to M14-1.5 hardened steel lug nuts for wheels 60 degree conical seats?

Not to be rude, but you are incorrect. My race wheels have 60 degree conical seats. Really!!

Hey Scott,

Sorry sir, I don't have those here,.....looks like Bob's suggestion is a good one for that item.

I contacted the vendor and he does not have these in stock and cannot give me an ETA. A little fishy considering he says he has these made just for him.

I have found no other sources for hardened steel lug nuts so I suppose I will go with regular steel and replace them sooner than I otherwise might have to.

Thanks,
