I think TWS has to be one of the most underated tracks in the US. But with the new track in Austin I think TWS may be in trouble. Just my $.02
Not necessarily.
Houston provides alot of users/customers to TWS. TWS is only 1.5 hours from Houston, while Bastrop is about 2.5. I can commute to DEs at TWS, and even do one on a whim if my schedule suddenly opens up (like an unnannounced mother in law visit). Not so with Austin.
And then there's bookings and cost. Expect the Austin F1 track to be heavily booked (team testing, etc.) and pricey. I would be surprised if time at Austin F1 wasn't at least twice as expensive as TWS.
Despite many other tracks in a 3 hour radius of Houston, TWS still draws. It needs some upkeep, but anybody who invests in upkeep will also pass the cost on. So, you might not have enough room for 4 urinals, but that's the price we pay for cheap laps.
