Most DEs are 4 sessions lasting 20-30 mins. On a short track like NHMS you might squeak by with one tank of gas. On anything with lots of throttle like the Glen you will need to fill up. There's usually enough time at lunch to head out to a local station.

That is very little information to give a definitive answer but my guess is no. If you are running even reasonably hard you will get about 8 mpg (+/- 2). You can almost see the needle moving, but don't actually try to watch the needle move

There's gas at the track. But if your car is not red, they may not allow you to fill it.

You will be fine. Had a guy with a GT3 in green the other day and he ran 4 sessions on <1 tank.

Buy a 5 gallon gas can and fill it and the car up before you go to the track. I use ~ 1/4 tank on a 20 minute run, so I'd run out w/o the extra 5 gallons. Lot depends on how hard you drive, but the gas can's cheap insurance - and cheaper than gas at the track. Last weekend, it was $4.99 for 93 vs. $3.45 in town.

make sure it's red. NJ won't fill it if it is not. and spray painting a blue one is not good enough. ask me how i know.

8 MPG is about right for a 997 from my past experience, though when I was in my 997 I wasn't driving near as hard as I do now. I would expect that with the tank on full you would make it through one day, but a five gallon jug is a good idea. Just make sure the lid is on tight!

Minor detail, but isn't the Metro event this weekend at Lightning?

Also, for what it's worth, I've done a few events at both tracks at NJMP, and one full tank has gotten me through the day each time. If you run out (or don't start with a full tank), there are a few WaWa stations not far from the track that are much cheaper than the pumps at NJMP.

Yes 8 mpg, but keep the tank at 1/2 while on the track. There are two turns that are sustained left, right and running the tank low you can experience a bit of fuel starvation at Tbolt. Getting a full day one tank will vary between drivers, track conditions, and traffic. I hope you have good weather. If it rains be very careful on the bridge turn to main straight. Water drains onto the track just below the Subaru "S" (right at turn-in).

yes we are at lightning this weekend, you will have four 30 min sessions, and the gas pumps are scheduled to be open from 9-4:30. The price at the track is not that much more expensive from the local gas stations and worth the little extra to not have to drive into town. If you choose to fill up at lunch there is a good WAWA 5 min away.
