Thanks Gator. i'll take a peek but i've found that shipping anything from the US to here is not a pleasant experience. Spain wants their VAT, plus import duties, and tends to over-estimate the worth of the product regardless of what value is listed on the package. Just easier to buy from a vendor or someone that lives here..

I hear you. Brazil is like that too. I would say 50% of the sale threads on there are YERP. It would honestly take like a week or two to collect stuff second hand if you are willing to wait.

Based on the above, I would recommend dropping the damper kit -- the performance kit alone is really good using the "medium" setting. Fanatec says the damper can be used on the throttle pedal also, though I don't know what the benefit of that would be.
I don't know if it's different for the CSL wheel, but I didn't need to order the USB Adaptor to run Clubsport V2 wheelbase, Clubsport Shifter, and Clubsport V3 pedals. The V3 pedals and CS V2 wheelbase both plug in via USB as delivered. From memory, I think the Fanatec shifter plugs into the V2 wheelbase. I would double check with Fanatec (don't take my word for it!), but I think the adaptor is only needed if you are running a Fanatec shifter or handbrake "standalone" without having a Fanatec wheel, so you may not need the USB adaptor.
Eliminating the damper (79.95) and the USB adaptor (24.95) (if possible) would get you pretty close to your original budget of $1k.

That stuff will be great. What are you thinking for the rig? The wheel base is pretty heavy, so keep that in mind.
On the wheel, I have this one: https://www.fanatec.com/eu-en/steeri...3-csqr-eu.html. It’s great and you are likely to end up focusing on the RSR GTE car which has a rim like this anyways. The 991 cup is a real bear to drive. I’m currently focusing on the 488 GT3 and GTE for endurance, which has a formula esque rim like this. There have been reports of missed shifts, but I have not had that happen.
i think I got my CSW and the rim for $600 second hand. Was taking a risk viz warranty. But, people complaining about Fanatec products are just a vocal minority on the forums. My stuff has been flawless, though I can feel the belt. May get a direct drive base maybe end of this year as I get faster.
As for iracing, you will be surprised how quickly it comes back to you. You can also check out virtual racing school for setup packages and lap analysis.
People do still scream into the all chat during public races. Just finished a 3 hour race with a teammate at Donington in the 488 GT3. This guy with 4000 names showed up again and blocked me as a lapped car again this week. Then, he killed self. All great fun!

Anybody doing the 24 hours of Spa? I am doing with the guys I have been doing the weekly endurance races with. The incident limit is super low @ 300.
If you you told me something like this would have existing 20 years back, I would have smacked you in the face. LOL

Cool! Not sure what split we will end up in since we haven't decided who is going to register and qualify the car. We have a mixture of iRatings which is frankly imperfect anyways. I think Max V is going to participate like he did with his team @ LeMans. I will be in the CMS Racing Ferrari GT3 from 3:30-5:30pm et then again in the middle of the night I think. One of our groupings last time won their split with a nearly damage free car last time @ LeMans, which is crazy over 24 hours.
T18 and the chicane at the end seem to be high kill self or be killed zones. This is way way too much fun!

Well, iRacing really dropped a turd this weekend. First, a race with what seems to be an error in the software such that the incident limit was only 44. Then, the race today without an incident limit at all, resulting in Indycar at COTA style track extending and insanely reckless driving. We had initial attempted homicide on the first lap, that we survived, even though we ended up turtled in T6. About 5.5 hours in, we got murdered for real the second time.
I will be interested to hear Hack's perspective and how his team ended up.

I had a high-speed autocross event Saturday evening (local club rented out a track from 5-8p). Plan was to put in my Spa24 laps in the morning with the team, then head out to the track (~2 hours away) before registration closed at 4:00.
Friday night, I was prepping the car and was going to run and grab the trailer to get everything loaded up when I found a flat on the tow vehicle. Too late for places to get me in to fix it - I had to find a place first thing in the morning instead (right over my opening time slot for the Spa24.) Turned out the screw I picked up was in the wrong spot - couldn't repair the tire. So I wound up buying all 4 new tires (cha-ching) so it was kind of a sh*t morning.

Lando and somewhat Max are great ambassadors for sim racing. But, the unsigned integer fail that resulted in no incident limits was a massive joke. Lando and Max basically did not respect the racing surface, which was true all over the place in all splits. We got murdered by somebody that tried to pass a lapped car we were also trying to pass by going into the grass. Huge fail on iracing’s part, killing tons of time preparing.
It was Indycar at COTA for 24 hours. Unreported in any of the “F1 drivers win top split” news, which happened by cheating like everybody else against the sporting code. Their co drivers did not.

And, everybody agrees the off tracks at Spa are too aggressive, but there was a total lack of respect of the racing surface since they could be ignored for the race. That is complete BS when you have 1000+ people who spent time preparing for the event to run within the track limits and the 300 incident limit (which was itself protested), and then it disappears because somebody decided to use an unsigned integer to track incidents 10 years ago.
Sorry for the rant! Usually a race mess up is for like 20-30 people. This whole debacle impacted probably 1400 people, all of whom had spent at least 5-10 hours preparing. So, 7000-14000 hours worth of time down the tubes because iRacing had no mechanism or the forethought to confirm the incident limit system. They claim to be fixing it, and also to address the limits at Spa which has been known for YEARS to be a problem. We shall see.
Unfortunately, iRacing is really the best platform out there, so we have a Microsoft problem of sorts here.

Max has been doing 3-4 races a day and is already back to A license. It's actually pretty easy to reclaim the license. Speaking purely from experience, last year I racked up 244 incidents at the Spa 24H and was demoted to a C license from an A4.99. After 4 time trials and a couple of races I was back to an A. There really is no consequence given how fast you get your license promotion. When the service first started you had to wait a whole season. Slowdown penalties should fix this but I read somewhere that the whole Spa offtrack thing is being looked at by iRacing.
