Default Renault to drop Kubica and Petrov for 2012

Interesting , Petrov is the pawn necessary for the Russian GP, Bernie usually park such refugees at Williams, we will see....

Auto Motor und Sport, reporting that Bruno Senna and Romain Grosjean are in the running for the 2012 race seats.

Pole Kubica is recovering from injury at present and hoping to be ready to start driving once again as early as next month. The report said he will start his comeback in a road car and possibly then move into a Renault single seater designed for the World Series or GP2.

“The question is whether Gerard Lopez and Eric Boullier want to wait that long,” said Auto Motor und Sport.

Kubica currently has no contract for the 2012 season,

Kubica's recovery is still in doubt and it should be no surprise that a French team wants to put a French driver who is having a good season in GP2 in their car next year. As far as Bruno Senna is concerned, the race at Monza showed us that he has the skill to be competing at the F1 level. There is no need for conspiracy theories here.

Kubica's F1 career was over the moment he had that shunt....

I'm not the one who felt the need to talk about Petrov, Russia, Ecclestone and parking refugees at Williams. You could have easily left all of that out of the discussion. We know Petrov was initially a rent-a-driver at Renault (though his skills have improved in the 1.5 years he has had his ride) and we know Ecclestone is a money hungry rat.

^^ It was not a suggested conspiracy , it was an opinion based on past malfeasance, then again you are the one who got upset over me posting testing times.

Information kills you .................

You have one guy injured and no real idea of his status at least as an F1 pilot, and another new guy bringing money and who is driving good at the moment. It adds up to a tough gig for the drivers who are there now.

Russian Petrov said at Monza that he is not worried. “My contract is safe for next year,” he insisted.

Boy isn't that the kiss of death. He obviously does not watch American sports.

I know the odds are against it but I hope like hell that RK comes back and proves all the doubters wrong. But if he gets dropped by the French and comes back in a lesser ride he won't really be able to prove his worth. Tough situation all around.

There is going to be a tons of rides opening up in 2013. Will Schumacher retire in 2013? How about Barrichello? Trulli? Webber? Massa will lose his Ferrari seat etc, etc, etc. So as long as he is healthy there is still a chance to see Kubica back in F1. We just may need to wait an extra year.

I can't see that Kubica won't come back. If not Renault, somebody will pick him up/take a chance on him. I love the guy and would really like to see him back in F1 but part of me feels like he's used 8 of his 9 lives and I hope the next one isn't a tragedy.

I believe he's used up most of his lives also.....who can forget Canada '07 and then this years crash.

Alessandro Nannini, now theres a name from so long ago.....promising but the helicoptor crash was his 8th life gone...
