Thanks for the support all.
We had a great first 1/3 of the race. Baron had a strong start and did a great job gaining track position and the first FC yellow was going to play right in the hand of the Cayman’s slight fuel consumption advantage (even though all the subsequent FC yellows negated the slight advantage). We didn’t come in and were running 15th overall at the restart. Check 06 on the lap chart on the Grand Am site. Was pretty exciting. Then we had a bit of bad luck - a spinning car made contact with us – and we had to come in. We went down a lap. From that point on we fought our way back up through the pack, gaining several GS class track positions via driving and attrition. The Cayman didn't have the bite nor power of a salt water crocodile that’s for sure, but it ran reliably and predictably from free practice 1 on Thursday am to the end of the race Saturday pm. More experience at Mid-O before the race weekend would have helped as well. Dan J and team did a great job yet again!
