Looks like qualifying was challenging for the Cayman. Too bad GrandAm does not provide sector times. It would be very interesting to see the time differentials for different parts of the track.

Looks like qualifying and the race is going to be a fustercluck. 39 GS cars and 32 ST cars? Wowzers. The first hour is just going to be about stay clean from the craziness.

I don't think either Fred or Baron have much time at MO. MO requires some seat time to get on pace.
Hope they have a clean race.

I'll be there for my first race ever @ MO and I know who to cheer for in GS. I also have a paddock pass and will try to find y'all before the race.

Any place(s) in particular that'll provide a good vantage point for the race?

Don't count them out yet Doug, Fred is notorious for absorbing what a track calls for, taught me that his first race at Watkins Glen.... hasn't changed a bit.

Gary,
I am well aware of Fred and Baron's driving abilities.
MO is just a different kind of track. Lots of tricks and very hard to pass on.
Watkins Glen is probably my favorite track, but it was easy to learn and get on pace compared to Mid Ohio.

I hope they kick some butt.

No question that Fred and Baron are quick. I just wonder whether the higher (much higher?) horsepower and torque of the Mustangs and M3s render the Cayman uncompetitive. That's why I would be interested in sector comparisons for the different cars.
Good luck today.
We'll all be rooting for you!!!!!

Thanks guys. MidO definitely rewards those who turned a lot of laps here. We're turning progressively faster. 70 cars on the grid. Race will be a real challenge.

noble did what they could, but with the current rules and weighst, just no way a 3.4l cayman is going to compete with the M3s, Mustangs and Camaros. The 911s did just as poorly.
So glad you felt the need to post that 1.5 hours before I could even begin taping it...
