Newton, MA - condo building, 9th floor - it swayed a bit back and forth - my father just called. Quite amazing.

LOL! That would be pretty awesome to have on our resume...

Pretty good shake here in Richmond. Made my lunch rather entertaining. Lasted quite a while.

Default Earthquake

And fear of earthquakes is why you did not want to live in California ?

You call that an earthquake? 5.8? I have lived through so many I can't count them. The big ones just shake a lot longer, making building whiplash causing them to shatter.
Actually, a 5.8 is strong enough to do real damage to brick buildings. I worked for a company in LA doing, what is known as, Division 88, seismic reinforcement of older buildings. We did a good enough job to not kill me when at 7.5 or somewhere there abouts (the Whitter quake) hit while I was in the basement of a brick bldg built in 1935. Glad to hear everyone is OK.

Now when the country's biggest fault, runs the center of the country (Missouri), starts to go, look out!!!

Felt it in Charlottesville. We live in Louisa County and my 7 year old goes to school about 10 miles from Mineral. The Mrs. went and picked him up. No damage. Never experienced one before. Heard this was nothing compared to what you guys on the west coast get from time to time.

I was signing in at the front gate at NJMP. It felt like someone was jumping up and down on my trailer. Didn't realize what it was until I got back to the hotel. Lol.

Here in Central NY we didn't feel a thing... Maybe being on the road most of the afternoon had something to do with it

22nd floor, a block north of Wall street. My office moved for about 15 seconds.
