Default Performance Friction 08 compound

For you GT3 and 997 guys....we now have the following PFC 08 compound
pads in stock at our facility.
7819.08.17.44 - fronts $418.20 set free UPS ground
1299.08.18.44 - rears $341.800 set free UPS ground

This compound is being widely used (under a veil of secrecy)by many of the top Porsche GT teams in ALMS and the Rolex Series.
08 compound is one of PFC newest and have gained immediate favor in Endurance Sportscar, and GT racing due to its performance in applications where smooth initial bite is a must. 08 have a slight friction rise with temperature, excellent release and modulation characteristics, and very low abraded disc wear. In addition to its considerable performance, 08 wears the longest of all PFC pads and easily matches wear of the other competitors with much higher bite.

Default PFC 08

Sorry, PFC is only making pads for the early Miata in 97 compound.
However if someone wanted to order 50 sets they may change their mind on this.

I've seen your videos...you brake so little, why not just use Pep Boys pads?

If you have a 1999 car then we have the 06 compound in stock now for the front of the car with the backs coming in late next week. The 06 compound has more bite than the 08, while the 08 gives you about 10% more wear/life. We've been supplying a lot of Porsche and non Porsche drivers with this compound and have been getting great reports.

2 of my buddies just used these pads and PFC rotors for a mancation that included 5 tracks in 2 weeks. they both said pads felt great from the 1st day to the 10th day on the pads. i've even heard they are good all the way to the backing plate. i will be running these once my stock rotors and pagid pads are all used up

I run my 06's to about the thickness of the backing plate, then change them. Anyone run them thinner?

I have. I don't really make it a matter of course, but it is very nice to know you can run them down to the plate if necessary w/o any degradation of performance.

Missed seeing you at the Glen in May!!!

Yeah, I had a commitment that week. I always run with ARPCA at that event. I'll be there in a few weeks with NNJRPCA, and can't wait to get back to the Glen. I love that track. Hopefully, we'll have better weather. If not, the rains come out, and I'm going to see what they'll do.

Hope to see you again you sometime.

We made the decision to have PFC produce 06, 01 and 97 compound in various part numbers that they don't currently produce. This way we can control what's available based on what the drivers are telling us. We stock a number of pads in 06, 01 and 97 compound that aren't currently available anywhere else. Most of the time it works out. Sometimes it doesn't ( anyone need 0345.83/7725.83 pads which fit 78-87 930s, 944 turbo and a bunch of other cars, we have 40+ axles in stock?). If anyone has any requests for other fitments or compounds let us know.

They fit the rear of the Turbo S. If you don't know the 83 compound, it's a very aggressive pad. The NASCAR cars used to/may still run it at the short tracks like Martinsville that are absolutely brutal on the brakes.

I just learned that PFC08 are only made in 997GT3/RS sizes. Performance Friction had their chart all messed up and I even double check and called Perf Friction to confirm what pads I needed. So I ordered PFC 08 pads for my 2012 GTS...which has the SAME brakes as 2002-04 Turbo and 2005-2012 Carrera S and GTS but Perf Friction said no the 2010-2010 Carrera S/GTS has bigger brakes.....and the pads I received do not fit. So Clark at Apex is taking them back no problem no issues just as I knew Apex would.

I am going to try out PFC01's and see how they compare to my Pagid Yellows.

Anyone selling PFC pads beware that the PFC chart for 997 cars is NOT correct. I called PFC and spoke to Lyle (sp?) and he was wrong with his pad advice to me. Performance Friction needs to brush up on their 997 car pad fitments.
