Porsche GTS test rides at Thunderhill
SO this weekend at our PCA DE weekend, PCNA brought out 2 new GTS's and gave test rides to anybody who wanted them. They had a marketing team, and 2 PCNA drivers giving the rides. Cars were showroom stock, and these guys threw them around the track like they were toys. Very impressive cars.
I couldn't find a link to the program, but they will be showing up at 10-12 more PCA DE weekends at different tracks around the country. The next one will be at High Plains Raceway in CO in the next few weeks.

This is a program by PCNA that was offered to PCA regions. The regions had to submit a request for the cars to be brought out. I'm not sure how PCNA chooses which events to attend, but the hosting region should be able to tell you if the cars will be there.
They had a similar program with Cayman Rs last year.

At least one person stuck a gopro on the roof for their ride. The GTS was doing 2:05's. Not too shabby for street tires and the limiting factor of having a passenger and the liability/safety margin, etc. Cass and Rich were very safe and not using too much of the track, but the acceleration of the GTS was really impressive -- alongside a 3.8 RS, from about 80 mph, both cars under full acceleration, the GTS did well to stay in touch with the RS. PDK is an amazing thing.
