Porsche returning to LeMans 2014

My own guess is that VWAG's board would not permit such a competition and that Joest will be free to run the Porsche effort, which'd be excellent news for Porsche.
An equally interesting question/rumor is whether Toyota is planning a return in LMP1 after their dominating-but-not-quite-winning performance in 1999 (when they lost to Williams BMW in the year after Porsche's last overall win). Toyota were rumored to spend giga-bucks on 1998 and 1999 efforts, so they know what's involved and they almost won, so let's hope they also decide to take the plunge.
Also interested to see what happens with Peugeot ("Pyue - zhoe," according to Scott Pruett) after this year's crushing disappointment.
Regards to all.

I bet Audi finishes their run with the current diesel powered LMP1 car in 2013 and Porsche moves in in 2014 with a Hybrid Technology car. This is probably about the time VW AG will be producing Hybrid street cars. Audi will step out for a few years while working on a different technology vehicle. Then move back in when Porsche's turn to showcase their wares is over. Sounds like a good strategy and an opportunity for VW AG to stay at the top of the development curve.
What about building a winning GT car? Come on Porsche, get back in the game and get to the top. I hate seeing Pcars languishing mid-pack -----or worse.

I'd rather see a GT car too....the Prototype stuff might as well be F1, technology-laden vehicles that relate in no way shape or form to something we can obtain or drive. GT cars look like street cars, something we can all relate to with our street cars and even our race cars. I know my Carrera is no GT3 RSR, but it's fun to dream and imagine that my car is "like" that RSR running around the track. I'm all for technology, but close racing, and real cars makes for better entertainment.
